Hi! Welcome to craftthings, a blog for craft things. An intentionally vague title to make my electic interests feel at least slightly cohesive. I'll post sewing projects, computer musings, even the odd life update or two if you're lucky. I'll try to post semi-regularly (here I go again with the intentional vagueness!), though that'll come with the usual astricks of "semi-regular" activities.
Why a blog though? Isn't that a bit 2009?
I'm in the process of moving away from social media for a meriad of reasons (which I might detail in a later post, though rants were not on the site agenda), and I wanted a place to put things where I can trust they'll stay there. A bit like a desk drawer. This format also gives me near complete control over things like formatting and media type. I can upload pictures, text, music, and even combine them in interesting ways (though I'm not sure I will)! It's just text for now and I don't have plans to host things that take up a lot of disk space because it's pretty limited on this machine.
Ok, but what are you going to put here?
I'm still getting this set up the way I want it, but my rough project stack looks like this:
Things I've already done, but want to write about:
- Backpacks
- Shirts
- The strange way I use computers.
Things I haven't done yet:
- Make a jacket
- More shirts!
- Corduroys
- Making a pen?
- I'm currently in the process of watching every academy award nominee for best picture. I might do write-ups on each year.
How long these all end up being will really depend on how much I have to say. If you just can't wait for these to come out, I might set up an RSS feed to subscribe to. That's really all my plans that aren't a pipe dream. I might add a little photo gallery if I have the disk space. Anyways that's it, bye!
